The title of this work refers to the first poem from http://lakesidepizzeriawi.com/menu-card/capuzzi-classic-supreme/embed/ The Four Quartets by T.S. Eliot, whose themes address the nature of time, the order of the universe, and life in the present moment.  Frankenthaler said, “I was thinking about Eliot, making order out of chaos, of light and dark…This seemed at the time an especially serious and weighty picture to solve.”  There is a rosy-pink sky that peeks out from behind a dark brown, mountainous mass while a thin, blueish-silver line runs across the foreground.
