Victoria and Albert Museum

The Victoria & Albert Museum, which was established in 1852, is located in the South Kensington area of London, England. With a campus of buildings occupying 12 acres and including 145 galleries, it counts as the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design. The Victoria & Albert’s architecturally-eclectic façade, itself, stretches for hundreds of feet along Cromwell Gardens. The collection includes more than 4.5 million artifacts from all corners of the globe, spanning over 3,000 years of human history. Where else might one find a plaster cast of Trajan’s Column, a Tokugawa-era Japanese Shogun uniform, and a pair of Elton John’s sunglasses–or be able to “take afternoon tea” in an authentic Arts & Crafts sitting room?
